Statistics South Africa to release the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for Q1 2026

Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) will release the results of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the first quarter of 2026 at a media briefing on Tuesday, 9 June 2026, in Tshwane.

The results will provide insights into how various sectors of the economy performed between January and March 2026.

Please note the following changes to the press conference proceedings:

Lock-up Session (10:30 AM)

Media representatives will be granted access to the embargoed data from 10:30 AM. Please note that no presentation will be conducted during the lock-up session, and cameras will not be permitted.

Press Conference (11:00 AM)

Media briefing and presentation will commence promptly at 11:00 AM, at which time the embargo on the data will be lifted.
