Statistics South Africa to release the Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS), Quarter 1 of 2026

Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) will release the Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS) results for the first quarter of 2026 at a media briefing in Tshwane on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.

The Labour Force Survey provides insights into employment, unemployment, labour force participation, and other labour market trends. The survey measures the labour market activities of individuals aged 15-64.

The results to be presented are for the period from January to March 2026 (Quarter 1).

Press conference proceedings:

Lock-up: Access to embargoed data will be granted to media representatives at 10:30 AM.

Please note: During the lock-up period, no presentations will be given, and cameras will not be permitted.

Press Conference: The official presentation will begin promptly at 11:00 AM.

Embargo: The embargo will be lifted at 11:00 AM, coinciding with the start of the presentation.
