Employment falls in SA’s Formal Non-Agricultural Sector in First Quarter of 2026

According to the Quarterly Employment Statistics (QES, Q1:2026) survey released by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA), total employment in the formal non-agricultural sector decreased by80 000 (0,8%) in the first quarter of 2026, falling from 10,548 million in December 2025 to 10,468 million by March 2026.
