This day has since been celebrated annually in South Africa since the\u00a0first non-racial democratic elections, marking the establishment of a new democratic government led by Nelson Mandela and a new government subject to a new Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Freedom Day therefore serves as a reminder that the guarantee of our freedom requires us to remain vigilant against corruption and the erosion of the values of the struggle for freedom and to build an active citizenry that will\u00a0work towards wiping out the legacy of racism, inequality and the promotion of the rights embodied in our Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>In this month\u2019s issue of Mbalo Brief, our educational article is based on Domestic Tourism for 2015. The article outlines the travel behaviour and expenditure of South African residents travelling within the borders of the<br \/>\ncountry.
