Release of the Living Conditions Survey and the <\/i><\/b>new weights for the Consumer Price Index (CPI) <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) will release the results of the Living Conditions Survey (LCS) 2014\/2015 and the new weights for the Consumer Price Index (CPI) on Friday, 27 January 2017 at its offices in Salvokop, Pretoria.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The LCS was conducted between October 2014 and October 2015. It measures a number of dimensions of living standards including household expenditure and household income. It provides an understanding of households\u2019 income sources and levels as well as their spending patterns. <\/span><\/p>\n

The expenditure estimates of the LCS form the basis of the weights and basket of the Consumer Price Index.<\/span><\/p>\n
