Statistics South Africa (Stats SA), in collaboration with the South African Medical Research Council, will be conducting a South African Demographic and Health Survey (SADHS) on behalf of the National Department of Health. The survey will run from June to November 2016.<\/p>\n
The survey aims to provide a better understanding of the health status of the population of South Africa. Key topics include child health, reproductive health, adult health and nutrition. The information collected will assist the Department of Health to plan and prioritise health programmes and service delivery. It also provides an opportunity for household members to understand their individual health status.<\/p>\n
How the survey works:<\/p>\n
SADHS Publicity Teams<\/b><\/p>\n
The SADHS publicity teams fieldwork starts on 6 June and will visit selected areas and homes across the country two weeks ahead of the data collection team. The Publicity Offices will create awareness about the survey and inform households they have been selected to participate in the survey.<\/p>\n
Stats SA appeals to all sampled households to participate in the survey.<\/p>\n
