Statistician-General to release the results of the Non-financial Census of Municipalities, 2022<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Statistician-General of South Africa, Mr Risenga Maluleke, will release the results of the Non-financial Census of Municipalities (NFCM) 2022 at a media briefing on Tuesday, 26 March 2024. The NFCM measures selected aspects of service delivery, including water, electricity, solid waste management, sewerage, and sanitation, amongst others.<\/p>\n

The report presents data on the number of households using the bucket toilet system in the country as reported by municipalities, and those receiving free basic services (such as electricity, water, etc.). The report also features statistics on indigent cases resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and employment in municipalities across South Africa. It further reflects on electricity provision trends in comparison with the Census 2022 results. Provincial and metro analysis of these service delivery variables will also be given.<\/p>\n
