Statistician-General to release the results of the Non-financial census of municipalities, 2020<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Statistician-General of South Africa, Mr Risenga Maluleke, will release the results of the Non-Financial Census of Municipalities (NFCM) 2020, at a media briefing to be held on Tuesday, 19 July 2022. The NFCM measures selected aspects of service delivery, including water, electricity, solid waste management, sewerage and sanitation, amongst others.<\/p>\n

Access to electricity is an important social and economic indicator, and the report will present data on the number of households accessing electricity from both Eskom and municipalities. The report further provides data on households using the bucket toilet system in the country as reported by municipalities and those receiving free basic services (such as free basic electricity, free basic water, etc.). It also features statistics on indigent households and employment in municipalities across South Africa.<\/p>\n
