He is experiencing mild symptoms and is recuperating at home.<\/p>\n<p>Following the COVID-19 regulations, all close contacts of the Statistician-General are being informed and advised to quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>The SG urges all South Africans to continue complying with COVID-19 prevention protocols, social distancing, washing and sanitising of hands, and avoiding large crowds and gathering. \u201cYou need to do all you can to not become one of the statistics in the rising numbers of COVID cases that are being reported,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am requesting that we all make every effort to ensure that the older members of our society are assisted to register on the vaccine system.
