Key findings: Report-03-51-02 - Tourism, 2025

The total number of foreign travellers who visited South Africa from Africa, overseas and unspecified countries, arriving through all ports of entry during 2025 was 14 183 030. The 2025 figure represents an increase of 20,9% as compared with the 2024 figure of 11 729 224. Foreign arrivals were made up of 334 576 non-visitors and 13 848 454 visitors. Visitors were made up of 3 349 948 same-day visitors and 10 498 506 tourists (overnight visitors). The breakdown of tourists by sex and age is as follows: 6 022 518 were males, 4 475 987 were females; 551 393 were aged less than 15, 935 635 were aged 15-24, 2 481 600 were aged 25-34, 3 022 946 were aged 35-44, 1 932 939 were aged 45-54, 963 184 were aged 55-64, 610 803 were aged 65 and older and 6 did not specify their age.
