Key findings: Report-03-00-26 - Methodology Report: Household Estimation and projections, 2025
The report details the methodology applied to
develop Household population estimates and projections disaggregated by age and
sex. Household estimates are a key resource in the process of planning, policy and
decision-making. The headship ratio method (HRM) is applied in the process of
developing household estimates and projections. The purpose of this report is
to provide information regarding the data used in
household estimation, key assumptions about future trends, as well as the
limitations thereof. Household estimates and projections are updated
annually and as such each release is accompanied by a full series of data that
has been updated. Revisions are due to updates in population data from MYPE
which forms part of the estimation process.
