Homelessness has been increasing in South Africa since 1996. Males youth are the face of homeless persons in South Africa. Streets and other places not suitable for habitation are the main places where the homeless resides most followed by shelters. Gauteng province has higher numbers of homeless persons followed by Western Cape province.
