Total income
The total income earned by enterprises operating in the Coega Special Economic Zone was R18 935 million in 2023. The reported total income in 2023 represents an annualised increase of 15,9% over the reported income in the corresponding survey of 2021 (R14 088 million).
The total number of persons employed in the
Coega Special Economic Zone as at the end of June 2023 was 8 577 employees.
At 5 579 employees, the manufacturing enterprises employed the largest
number of persons, as compared to 2 998 that were employed in the non-manufacturing
enterprises in 2023.
