Measured in real terms (constant 2019 prices), total income generated by the food and beverages industry increased by 4,1% in September 2025 compared with September 2024. The largest positive annual growth rate was recorded for ‘other’ income (7,2%). A negative annual growth rate was recorded for bar sales (-4,6%).

In September 2025, the largest positive contributor to the 4,1% year-on-year increase was takeaway and fast-food outlets (9,4% and contributing 3,6 percentage points).

Total income increased by 4,3% in the third quarter of 2025 compared with the third quarter of 2024. The largest contributor to this increase was takeaway and fast-food outlets (10,0% and contributing 3,9 percentage points).

 

Seasonally adjusted income for the food and beverages industry decreased by 3,3% in September 2025 compared with August 2025. This followed month-on-month changes of 5,8% in August 2025 and -0,3% in July 2025.
