Year-on-year percentage
change in food and beverages income at constant 2019 prices by type of income
Measured in real terms (constant 2019 prices),
total income generated by the food and beverages industry increased by 4,7% in April
2025 compared with April 2024. A positive annual growth rate was recorded for
food sales (5,8%).

In April 2025, the largest positive contributor
to the 4,7% year-on-year increase was takeaway and fast-food outlets (9,9% and
contributing 3,8 percentage points). The only negative contributor was catering
services (-5,9% and contributing -0,7 of a percentage point).

Total
income increased by 1,7% in the three months ended April 2025 compared with the
three months ended April 2024. The only
positive contributor to this increase was takeaway and fast-food outlets (5,0%
and contributing 1,9 percentage points).
Seasonally adjusted income
for the food and beverages industry decreased by 1,2% in April 2025 compared
with March 2025. This followed month-on-month changes of 2,5% in March 2025
and 0,6% in February 2025.
