Key findings: P6410 - Tourist accommodation, May 2026

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), total income for the tourist accommodation industry increased by 2,5% in May 2026 compared with May 2025.


Income from accommodation increased by 2,2% year-on-year in May 2026, the result of a 0,5% increase in the number of stay unit nights sold and a 1,7% increase in the average income per stay unit night sold.

 

In May 2026, the positive contributors to the 2,2% year-on-year increase in income from accommodation were:

  • hotels (2,8% and contributing 1,6 percentage points); and
  • ‘other’ accommodation (3,7% and contributing 1,4 percentage points.

 

Income from accommodation increased by 7,5% in the three months ended May 2026 compared with the three months ended May 2025. The main contributors to this increase were:

  • ‘other’ accommodation (11,6% and contributing 4,2 percentage points); and
  • hotels (5,3% and contributing 3,0 percentage points).

 

Seasonally adjusted income from accommodation increased by 0,7% month-on-month in May 2026, following a decrease of 1,3% month-on-month in April 2026.
