Key findings: P6410 - Tourist accommodation, April 2026

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), total income for the tourist accommodation industry increased by 5,6% in April 2026 compared with April 2025.

 

Income from accommodation increased by 6,5% year-on-year in April 2026, the result of a 9,0% increase in the number of stay unit nights sold and a 2,3% decrease in the average income per stay unit night sold.


In April 2026, the main contributors to the 6,5% year-on-year increase in income from accommodation were:

  • ‘other’ accommodation (8,0% and contributing 3,0 percentage points); and
  • hotels (5,2% and contributing 2,9 percentage points).

Income from accommodation increased by 9,3% in the three months ended April 2026 compared with the three months ended April 2025. The main contributors to this increase were:

  • ‘other’ accommodation (16,3% and contributing 5,6 percentage points); and
  • hotels (5,3% and contributing 3,1 percentage points).

Seasonally adjusted income from accommodation decreased by 1,1% month-on-month in April 2026, following an increase of 2,2% month-on-month in March 2026.
