Key findings: P6410 - Tourist accommodation, February 2026

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), total income for the tourist accommodation industry increased by 7,0% in February 2026 compared with February 2025.

Income from accommodation increased by 8,9% year-on-year in February 2026, the result of a 5,4% increase in the number of stay unit nights sold and a 3,4% increase in the average income per stay unit night sold.


In February 2026, the main contributors to the 8,9% year-on-year increase in income from accommodation were:

  •  ‘other’ accommodation (23,3% and contributing 7,1 percentage points); and
  •  hotels (2,6% and contributing 1,6 percentage points).

Income from accommodation increased by 5,1% in the three months February 2026 compared with the three months ended February 2025. The positive contributors to this increase were:

·       ‘other’ accommodation (15,1% and contributing 5,0 percentage points); and

·       guest-houses and guest-farms (19,7% and contributing 0,8 of a percentage point).


Seasonally adjusted income from accommodation increased by 2,9% month-on-month in February 2026, following an increase of 1,7% month-on-month in January 2026.
