Key findings: P6410 - Tourist accommodation, August 2025

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), total income for the tourist accommodation industry increased by 7,8% in August 2025 compared with August 2024.


Income from accommodation increased by 9,6% year-on-year in August 2025, the result of a 3,6% increase in the number of stay unit nights sold and a 5,7% increase in the average income per stay unit night sold.


In August 2025, the main contributors to the 9,6% year-on-year increase in income from accommodation were:


  • hotels (13,2% and contributing 7,1 percentage points); and
  • ‘other’ accommodation (5,4% and contributing 2,2 percentage points).

Income from accommodation increased by 9,1% in the three months ended August 2025 compared with the three months ended August 2024. The main contributors to this increase were:


  • hotels (15,1% and contributing 8,0 percentage points); and
  • ‘other’ accommodation (2,7% and contributing 1,1 percentage points).

Seasonally adjusted income from accommodation increased by 1,5% month-on-month in August 2025, following a decrease of 0,5% month-on-month in July 2025.
