Key findings: P5041.1 - Selected building statistics of the private sector as reported by local government institutions, September 2025
The value of building plans passed (at current prices) decreased by 2,5% (-R1 882,5 million) during January to September 2025 compared with January to September 2024. Decreases were reported for residential buildings (-R1 945,8 million) and non-residential buildings (-R1 272,3 million). An increase was reported for additions and alterations (R1 335,6 million).
The value of buildings reported as completed (at current prices) increased by 0,6% (R217,8 million) during January to September 2025 compared with January to September 2024. Increases were reported for residential buildings (R1 041,4 million) and non-residential buildings (R246,6 million). A decrease was reported for additions and alterations (-R1 070,1 million).
