Key findings: P3043 - Manufacturing: Utilisation of production capacity by large enterprises, August 2025

The utilisation of production capacity by large manufacturers was 77,9% in August 2025 compared with 78,6% in August 2024, a decrease of 0,7 of a percentage point.

 

Seven of the ten manufacturing divisions showed decreases in utilisation of production capacity in August 2025 compared with August 2024. The largest decreases were reported in the following divisions:

  • electrical machinery (-4,3 percentage points);
  • basic iron and steel, non-ferrous metal products, metal products and machinery (-3,6 percentage points);
  • motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment (-2,4 percentage points); and
  • radio, television and communication apparatus and professional equipment (-1,6 percentage points).

 

Rates of utilisation of production capacity higher than 80% were reported in the following divisions in August 2025:

  • food and beverages (82,9%);
  • glass and non-metallic mineral products (81,2%); and
  • furniture and ‘other’ manufacturing (80,4%).
