Key findings: P3043 - Manufacturing: Utilisation of production capacity by large enterprises, May 2025

The utilisation of production capacity by large manufacturers was 77,7% in May 2025 compared with 77,6% in May 2024, an increase of 0,1 of a percentage point.

 

Six of the ten manufacturing divisions showed increases in utilisation of production capacity in May 2025 compared with May 2024. The largest increases were recorded in the following divisions:

  • glass and non-metallic mineral products (2,5 percentage points); and
  • textiles, clothing, leather and footwear (1,8 percentage points).

 

The following divisions recorded rates of utilisation of production capacity above 80% in May 2025:

  • food and beverages (82,6%);
  • glass and non-metallic mineral products (81,0%); and
  • furniture and ‘other’ manufacturing (80,2%).
