Key findings: P3043 - Manufacturing: Utilisation of production capacity by large enterprises, November 2024

The utilisation of production capacity by large manufacturers was 79,1% in November 2024 compared with 79,4% in November 2023, a decrease of 0,3 of a percentage point.

 

Five of the ten manufacturing divisions showed decreases in utilisation of production capacity in November 2024 compared with November 2023. The largest decreases were reported in the following divisions:

  • furniture and ‘other’ manufacturing (-1,9 percentage points);
  • wood and wood products, paper, publishing and printing (-1,8 percentage points); and
  • motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment (-1,4 percentage points).

 

The following divisions recorded rates of utilisation of production capacity above 80% in November 2024:

  • food and beverages (83,1%);
  • radio, television and communication apparatus and professional equipment (82,8%);
  • furniture and ‘other’ manufacturing (80,5%);
  • glass and non-metallic mineral products (80,2%); and
  • electrical machinery (80,1%).
