Production: results for June 2026

 

Manufacturing production decreased by 1,7% in June 2026 compared with June 2025. Negative contributions were made by the following divisions:

·         food and beverages (-3,9% and contributing -1,0 percentage point);

·         wood and wood products, paper, publishing and printing (-8,9% and contributing -0,9 of a percentage point); and

·         motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment (-5,3% and contributing -0,4 of a percentage point).

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing production increased by 0,9% in June 2026 compared with May 2026. This followed month-on-month changes of 1,0% in May 2026 and -2,6% in April 2026.

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing production decreased by 1,5% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the first quarter of 2026. Seven of the ten manufacturing divisions reported negative growth rates over this period. The following divisions reported the largest negative contributions:

·         food and beverages (-3,0% and contributing -0,8 of a percentage point);

·         furniture and ‘other’ manufacturing (-9,3% and contributing -0,4 of a percentage point); and

·         basic iron and steel, non-ferrous metal products, metal products and machinery (-1,2% and contributing -0,3 of a percentage point).

 

 

Sales: results for June 2026

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing sales decreased by 1,6% in June 2026 compared with May 2026. This followed month-on-month changes of -1,5% in May 2026 and 0,7% in April 2026.

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing sales increased by 0,6% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the first quarter of 2026. The largest positive contributions were made by the petroleum, chemical products, rubber and plastic products division (5,0% and contributing 1,1 percentage points) and the motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment division (4,3% and contributing 0,6 of a percentage point).
