Production: results for
December 2025
Manufacturing production decreased by 1,4% in
December 2025 compared with December 2024. The largest negative
contributions were made by the following divisions:
·
food
and beverages (-4,6% and contributing -1,4 percentage point);
·
wood and wood products,
paper, publishing and printing (-5,2%
and contributing -0,6 of a percentage point); and
·
basic
iron and steel, non-ferrous metal products, metal products and machinery (-2,3%
and contributing -0,4 of a percentage point).
The petroleum, chemical
products, rubber and plastic products division was the
largest positive contributor (7,5% and contributing 1,6 percentage points).
Seasonally
adjusted manufacturing production decreased by 1,2% in December 2025 compared
with November 2025. This followed month-on-month changes of -2,1% in November
2025 and 1,1% in October 2025.
Seasonally
adjusted manufacturing production decreased by 0,5% in the fourth quarter of
2025 compared with the third quarter of 2025. Eight of the ten manufacturing
divisions reported negative growth rates over this period. The following divisions
reported the largest negative contributions:

motor
vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment (-6,1% and
contributing -0,5 of a percentage point);
·
wood and wood products,
paper, publishing and printing (-2,0% and contributing -0,2 of a percentage
point); and
·
food
and beverages (-0,9% and contributing -0,2 of a percentage point).
In 2025, total manufacturing production decreased
by 1,3% compared with 2024. The largest negative contributions were made by the
following divisions:
·
wood and wood products,
paper, publishing and printing (-3,1% and contributing -0,3 of a percentage
point);
·
basic iron and steel,
non-ferrous metal products, metal products and machinery (-1,3% and
contributing -0,3 of a percentage point);
·
motor vehicles, parts and
accessories and other transport equipment (-2,5% and contributing -0,2 of a
percentage point); and
·
petroleum, chemical
products, rubber and plastic products (-0,9% and contributing -0,2 of a
percentage point).
Sales: results for December 2025
Seasonally
adjusted manufacturing sales decreased by 4,5% in December 2025 compared with
November 2025. This followed month-on-month changes of -0,7% in November 2025
and -0,9% in October 2025.
Seasonally
adjusted manufacturing sales decreased by 2,5% in the fourth quarter of 2025
compared with the
third quarter of 2025. The largest negative contributions were made by the motor vehicles,
parts and accessories and other transport equipment division
(-11,6% and contributing -1,8 percentage points) and the food and
beverages division (-1,9% and contributing -0,5 of a percentage
point).
