Production: results for August 2025

 

Manufacturing production decreased by 1,5% in August 2025 compared with August 2024. The largest negative contributions were made by the basic iron and steel, non-ferrous metal products, metal products and machinery division (-5,9% and contributing -1,3 percentage points) and the food and beverages division (‑3,0% and contributing -0,7 of a percentage point).

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing production increased by 0,4% in August 2025 compared with July 2025. This followed month-on-month changes of -0,8% in July 2025 and -0,1% in June 2025.

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing production increased by 1,5% in the three months ended August 2025 compared with the previous three months. Six of the ten manufacturing divisions reported positive growth rates over this period. The largest positive contributions were reported for the following divisions:

·         food and beverages (3,1% and contributing 0,8 of a percentage point);

·         petroleum, chemical products, rubber and plastic products (2,6% and contributing 0,5 of a percentage point); and

·         motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment (5,2% and contributing 0,4 of a percentage point).

 

 

Sales: results for August 2025

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing sales increased by 0,6% in August 2025 compared with July 2025. This followed month-on-month changes of -0,6% in July 2025 and 2,0% in June 2025.

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing sales increased by 3,0% in the three months ended August 2025 compared with the previous three months. The largest contributions were made by the following divisions:

·         food and beverages (3,2% and contributing 0,8 of a percentage point);

·         petroleum, chemical products, rubber and plastic products (3,8% and contributing 0,8 of a percentage point); and

·         motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment (4,8% and contributing 0,7 of a percentage point).
