In July 2026, 3 154 725 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 844 503 South African residents and 2 310 222 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 273 663 were made up of 30 918 non-visitors and 1 242 745 visitors. The visitors consisted of 251 049 same-day visitors and 991 696 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows 193 637 from overseas; 785 469 from SADC countries; 11 751 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 839 tourists was classified as unspecified.
