In June 2026, 2 788 901 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 715 507 South African residents and 2 073 394 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 085 557 were made up of 29 481 non-visitors and 1 056 076 visitors. The visitors consisted of 232 711 same-day visitors and 823 365 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows 141 796 from overseas; 668 770 from SADC countries; 12 007 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 792 tourists was classified as unspecified.
