Important Notice: In April 2026, 3 257 395 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa's ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 806 121 South African residents and 2 451 274 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 284 245 were made up of 37 249 non-visitors and 1 246 996 visitors. The visitors consisted of 257 667 same-day visitors and 989 329 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows 181 796 from overseas; 787 489 from SADC countries; 19 101 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 943 tourists was classified as unspecified.
