In February 2026, 2 689 619 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 594 114 South African residents and 2 095 505 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 126 271 were made up of 26 115 non-visitors and 1 100 156 visitors. The visitors consisted of 235 622 same-day visitors and 864 534 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows 222 978 from overseas; 624 294 from SADC countries; 16 487 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 775 tourists was classified as unspecified.
