In December 2025, 3 962 073 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 1 188 119 South African residents and 2 773 954 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 339 217 were made up of 25 710 non-visitors and 1 313 507 visitors. The visitors consisted of 316 342 same-day visitors and 997 165 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows 238 561 from overseas; 738 362 from SADC countries; 19 408 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 834 tourists were classified as unspecified.
