In October 2025, 3 123 858 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 810 183 South African residents and 2 313 675 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 234 559 were made up of 29 438 non-visitors and 1 205 121 visitors. The visitors consisted of 277 695 same-day visitors and 927 426 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of tourists by region is as follows 238 406 from overseas; 668 407 from SADC countries; 19 511 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 102 tourists were classified as unspecified.
