In September 2025, 2 988 099 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 777 281 South African residents and 2 210 818 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 156 606 were made up of 26 761 non-visitors and 1 129 845 visitors. The visitors consisted of 283 478 same-day visitors and 846 367 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of tourists by region is as follows 181 802 from overseas; 645 745 from SADC countries; 17 676 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 144 tourists were classified as unspecified.
