In July 2025, 3 073 360 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 879 504 South African residents and 2 193 856 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 201 015 were made up of 26 939 non-visitors and 1 174 076 visitors. The visitors consisted of 292 683 same-day visitors and 881 393 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of tourists by region is as follows 182 597 from overseas; 683 518 from SADC countries; 14 283 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 995 tourists were classified as unspecified.
