D0401.7 - Natural Capital 7: Physical Energy Flow Accounts for South Africa

This discussion document presents South Africa’s Physical Energy Flow Accounts (PEFA) for 2022 and expands the time-series of the PEFA for South Africa, which was first released in March 2025 for the time-series 2015 to 2021, to include the reference year 2022. This discussion document forms part of Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) and the Statistics South Africa’s (Stats SA) Natural Capital series. It contributes to the implementation of South Africa’s National Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) Strategy, which was published by (Stats SA) in June 2021.
