Langeberg

The Langeberg Local Municipality serves the towns of Ashton, Robertson, Montagu, Bonnievale and McGregor in the picturesque Breede River Valley/Klein Karoo area, where people still live close to nature. Cape Agulhas

Cape Agulhas Local Municipality is the southernmost local municipality in Africa.Its coastline is surrounded by the Atlantic and Indian oceans which meet at the most southern town in Africa, named LAgulhas. The geographical area consists of approximately 2 411 km. The municipality falls within the municipal district of the Overberg.

The area includes a number of big rural areas, as well as the following towns: Bredasdorp, Napier, Waenhuiskrans/Arniston (which is probably the only town in South Africa with two acknowledged names), Struisbaai, and LAgulhas, which is the most southern town in Africa. This legendary point of Africa is surrounded by both the warm Indian and the cold Atlantic oceans that meet at the most southern point. The area also includes Suiderstrand and Elim, which is a historical Moravian missionary station and world heritage site.

Mossel Bay

Mossel Bay was officially proclaimed a town in 1848 and in 1852 it became a municipality. As a result of the new municipal dispensation introduced by the South African government, during December 2000 the municipality of Mossel Bay was merged with those of the much smaller Friemersheim, Great Brak River and Herbertsdale to establish the present-day municipality of Mossel Bay.

The municipal area is 2007 km2 in size and includes the towns and / or settlements of Mossel Bay, Boggoms Bay, Brandwag, Buisplaas, D'Almeida, Dana Bay, Glentana, Fraaiuitsig, Friemersheim, Great Brak River, Hartenbos, Herbertsdale, Hersham, KwaNonqaba, Little Brak River, Outeniqua Beach, Reebok, Ruiterbos, Southern Cross, Tergniet and Vleesbaai.

City of Cape Town

The City of Cape Town as a municipal entity of today is just over ten years old. However, the Mother City has the oldest municipal structure in the country, going back to its first Council meeting held on 8 April 1652 on a sailing ship anchored in Table Bay.

The Mother City is South Africas oldest city, with an area of 2461 km2. It is the legislative capital of South Africa, the administrative and economic centre of the Western Cape Province.

Mandeni

Mandeni Local Municipality (formerly eNdondakusuka Local Municipality) is an administrative area in the iLembe District of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Manufacturing, elementary work and plant and machine work are the highest non-farming categories of labour. Mandeni includes substantial areas of commercial agriculture, with the bulk of these areas under sugar-cane. Agriculture is the main employment sector in the area. Tourism industry in Mandeni is also observable at the Tugela Mouth area. The history of the area cannot be divorced from the tourism potential. Great battles have been fought by the Zulus against the British in this area through the involvement of King Cetshwayo. The area was one of the most important agricultural areas of the Kingdom of KwaZulu since the reigns of Kings Malandela, Jama, Senzangakhona, Shaka, Dingane and Mpande. During the reigns of Kings Shaka and Dingane, the eNdondakusuka area formed part of the area regarded as Prince Mpandes sphere of influence. He had his house kwaMfemfeeGcotsheni in Ndulinde, which is where Prince Shingana was born and buried in 1911.read more »
