Joe Morolong

The Joe Morolong Local Municipality was established in 2000 and serves 15 wards, most of which are rural. Although unemployment is high, the municipality has great potential for developers, especially those interested in ecotourism and conservation.

The municipal area is approximately 5813 km in size. Joe Morolong Local Municipality is part of the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality. The municipality strives to deliver basic services to its community by ensuring that there is water, sanitation and electricity.

Swartland

Swartland Local Municipality is situated in the West Coast District, bordering the Atlantic Ocean in the west, the City of Cape Town in the south, the Cape Winelands District to the east and Saldanha Bay Municipality and Bergrivier Municipality to its north and northeast.

The largest towns in Swartland include Malmesbury, Moorreesburg, Darling, Riebeeck West, Riebeeck Kasteel and Yzerfontein. Malmesbury, as an administrative centre of the municipality, has a diversified economic base, which includes agriculture, as well as a diversified industrial sector and infrastructure, and although tourism does not currently play a major role, this avenue can beexplored.

Langeberg

The Langeberg Local Municipality serves the towns of Ashton, Robertson, Montagu, Bonnievale and McGregor in the picturesque Breede River Valley/Klein Karoo area, where people still live close to nature. Kannaland

Kannaland Local Municipality is classified as a category B municipality. It is responsible for basic service provision to the towns of Calitzdorp, Ladismith, Van Wyksdorp, Zoar, as well as the surrounding farming communities. Kannaland is situated about 340km north east of Cape Town, along the famous tourism Route 62. It is linked by tarred main roads to all other major centres such as Oudtshoorn (100km), Montagu (139km), George (160km), Mossel Bay (185km) and Port Elizabeth (420km). Mhlontlo

The municipality comprises the magisterial areas of Qumbu and Tsolo. It is bounded to the south by the King Sabata Dalinyebo Local Municipality; to the east by the Nyandeni Local Municipality; and to the north by the Mzimvubu Local Municipality. The surface area of the municipality is 2826km2,with a population of 188226 persons in 2011, which translates to a population density of 66,6 persons per square kilometre.
