uMlalazi Local Municipality is made up of the towns of Eshowe, Mtunzini, and Gingindlovu. The villages of Amatikulu and Ntumeni, together with considerable rural hinterland, cover one of the largest geographical areas of all municipalities in South Africa, with a total area of 2217 km2. Greater Giyani Local Municipality was established in 1969. It is an administrative and commercial centre of the Mopani district and also the former capital of Gazankulu. Greater Giyani Local Municipality derives its name from the town Giyani, whichis a Tsonga word meaninga place where people danceandaland of the friendly people. Greater Tzaneen Local Municipality is situated in the eastern quadrant of Limpopo within the Mopani District Municipality area of jurisdiction. It is bordered by Polokwane to the west, Greater Letaba to the north, Ba-Phalaborwa and Maruleng to the east and Lepelle-Nkumpi to the south. Mookgophong is a charming and thriving town in the Waterberg encircled by peaceful nature reserves and steaming hot springs. The Bushveld climate and attractive resorts in the area attract holidaymakers all year round. Mookgophong (previously known as Naboomspruit) dates back to the late 1800's when it was a rest station for the Pretoria-Polokwane mail coach. Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality, formerly known as Greater Marble Hall Local Municipality is a local municipality (category B4) within the Sekhukhune District Municipality, in Limpopo. The municipalitys new name was adopted in January 2010 with a new slogan that says Rehlabolla setshaba, meaning We develop our people. The municipality is named after the struggle hero Ephraim Mogale. The municipality borders Makuduthamaga Local Municipality in the south, Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality in the east, Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality in Capricorn District, Mookgopong Local Municipality in Waterberg and Mpumalangas Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality.
