IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In February 2021, 385 832 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 131 693 South African residents and 254 139 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 136 510 were made up of 34 212 non-visitors and 102 298 visitors. The visitors consisted of 12 133 same-day visitors and 90 165 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 10 745 from overseas; 76 298 from the SADC countries; 2 968 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 154 tourists was classified as unspecified.
