Chelmsford is a dam and nature reserve that was named in honour of Lord Chelmsford (1827-1905), commander of British forces at the Cape and in the Zulu war of 1879. The dam is also known as Ntshongwayo Dam, after the Zulu commander from that war. (GPS coordinates: 28.0098 S, 29.8927 E).
